"And GOD said' let there be light' and there was light." Genesis 1: 3
'And GOD said,'let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. . . and it was so." Genesis 1: 6, 7c
"And GOD said, 'let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear;" and it was so." Genesis 1: 9
"And GOD said, 'let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and for years; and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth'; and it was so." Genesis 1: 14-15
"And GOD said, "let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth, in the open firmament of heaven. . . and GOD said 'let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind'; and it was so. Genesis 1: 20,24
"And GOD said, 'let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So GOD created man in HIS own image, in the image of GOD created HE him; male and female created HE them; and GOD blessed them and GOD said unto them, 'be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth, and subdue it. And have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." Genesis 1:26-28
"and THE LORD GOD said, 'it is not good that man should be alone; I will make him an helpmeet for him. . . and THE LORD GOD caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept, and HE took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib which THE LORD GOD had taken from man, made HE a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, ' this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman' because she was taken out of man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother; and shall cleave unto his wife; and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed." Genesis 2:18,21-25
"Let all the earth fear THE LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world, stand in awe of HIM. For HE spake and it was done; HE commanded and it stood fast." Psalms 33: 8-9
"Behold all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded; they shall be as nothing, and they that strive with thee, shall perish.Thou shalt seek them and shall not find them, even them that contended with thee; they that war against thee shall be as nothing and as a thing of nought. for I, THE LORD thy GOD will hold thy right hand, saying , fear not, I will help thee." Isaiah 41: 11-13
"Moreover THE LORD answered Job and said,' shall he that contendeth with THE ALMIGHTY instruct HIM? He that reproveth GOD, let him answer it. Then Job answered THE LORD and said, 'behold I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth. Once have I spoken; but I will not answer; yea, twice, but I will proceed no further. " Then answered THE LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said, "gird up thy loins now, like a man; I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto ME. Wilt thou also disannul MY Judgement? Wilt thou condemn ME, that thou mayest be righteous? Hast thou an arm like GOD? or canst thou thunder with a Voice like HIM? Deck thyself now with Majesty and Excellency, and array thyself with glory and beauty? Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath and behold every one that is proud and abase him? Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low? and tread down the wicked in their place? Hide them in the dust together and bind their faces in secret? {if you could do these things} then will I confess unto thee that thine own hand can save thee. Behold, now Behemoth, which I have made; he eateth grass as an ox; lo, now his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly. He moveth his tail like a cedar, the sinews of his stones [gonads] are wrapped together. His bones are as strong pieces of brass, his bones are like bars of iron. He is the chief of the ways of GOD, HE that made him can make HIS sword approach unto him. Surely the mountains bring forth food, where all the beasts of the field play. He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed and fens [defined as marshland, bogs]. The shady trees cover him with their shadow, the willows of the brook compass him about. Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not; he trusteth that he can draw up [the river ] Jordan into his mouth. He taketh it with his eyes; his nose pierceth through snares. [continued into chapter 41:] Canst thou draw out Leviathan with an [fisherman's ] hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou hast lettest down? Canst thou put a hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn? Will he make supplication unto thee? Will he speak soft words unto thee? Will he make a covenant with thee? Wilt thou take him for a servant forever? Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens? Shall the companions make a banquet [feast] of him? Shall they part him [into pieces] among the merchants? Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears? Lay thine hand upon him, [and you will ]remember the battle, [and] do no more. Behold the hope of [catching] him is in vain; shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him?None is so fierce that dare stir him up! Who then is able to stand before ME? Who hath prevented ME that I should repay him? Whatsoever is under the whole heaven is MINE. I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion. Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle [to muzzle his teeth and lead him about]? Who can open his doors of his face? [his mouth]. His teeth are terrible round about. His scales are his pride; shut up together as with a close seal. One is so near to another, that no air can come between them. They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered. By his neesings [?sneezings] a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out. Out of nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot, or caldron. His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth. In his neck remaineth strength and sorrow is turned into joy before him. The flakes of his flesh are joined together, they are firm in themselves, they cannot be moved. His heart is as firm as a stone, yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone. When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid! By reason of breakings [of the surface of water ] they purify themselves [ I think this means they pray!]. The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold, [nor] the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon. [defined as armour for the neck and shoulders]. He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood. The arrow cannot make him flee; slingstones are turned with him into stubble. Darts are counted as stubble; he laugheth at the shaking of the spear. Sharp stones are under him, he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire [mud]. He maketh the deep to boil like a pot; he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment. He maketh a path to shine after him, one would think the deep to be hoary [defined 'white frost']. Upon earth there is not his like; who is made without fear. He beholdeth all high things, and he is a king over all the children of pride. " Job chapters 40 and 41
